Project

Rotted Wall Rebuilt, New Blue Shower

The wall behind the tub had rotted out. We opened it up, rebuilt it, and finished the room with a blue stone-look walk-in shower. Completed by Angry Cat Contracting.

Michigan • Bathroom Remodeling • Custom Showers

From inside, this looked like a tired bathroom: an old tub, white tile, a worn vanity and a glass block window taped up along the sill. The real problem was behind it. When the outside wall came open, the sheathing and framing around that window had rotted black.

We opened the wall from outside, took the rot out, put in new framing and sheathing around the glass block window, and wrapped it before the siding went back on. Inside, the tub is gone. In its place is a walk-in shower with large blue stone-look tile, a sliding glass door, a grab bar and a hex tile floor.

After: a walk-in shower with blue stone-look walls
Before: a tub, a curtain and white tile

From the same doorway, before and after. Drag the handle to compare.
