We use Schluter waterproofing systems as our standard for custom tiled showers. Tile and grout are the finished surface; the waterproofing system behind them is what protects the shower assembly.

Yes. Tile and grout by themselves are not the waterproofing system. A properly built shower needs a complete waterproofing assembly behind the finished tile. That’s why we pay so much attention to what you won’t see when the shower is finished.

Yes, when the existing structure and layout allow it. Curbless showers can require changes to the floor structure, drain location and shower layout, so we keep the website pricing simple and go over those options with you during the estimate.

Yes. Niches, benches, rain shower heads, handhelds and other features can be designed into a custom shower. We’ll talk through the options before the project is finalized so the plumbing, blocking, waterproofing and tile layout are planned correctly.

The timeline depends on whether we’re replacing only the shower or remodeling the entire bathroom, along with the amount of plumbing, framing, waterproofing and tile work involved. We’ll give you an expected schedule with the project proposal rather than promising the same timeline for every shower.

Angry Cat Contracting provides a 5-year workmanship warranty. Schluter systems may also carry an applicable manufacturer warranty when the system is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements. The manufacturer warranty is separate from Angry Cat’s workmanship warranty.

Shower glass can be included as part of the project. The type of enclosure depends on the shower design, opening and hardware you choose. We plan for the glass during the build so blocking, curb or threshold details and finished dimensions are accounted for.
